Collaborations
Earlier in 2018 my focus was on water. I followed a stream and it lead me to collaborate with Conservation Music on their South African leg of their journey towards the summit of Kilimanjaro. Their mission is to enable grassroots action for a healthy planet by cultivating the use of music as an educational tool. Their vision is of a global community that stewards the Earth, in which the memorable, emotional, and unifying power of music contributes to the balance between humankind, nature, and society.
So inspired was I that I continued to Lesotho as well as Swaziland in order to paint and photograph more of the talented artists they collaborated with.
Unveiled Series
This is part of a series of pictures which i have called UNVEILED inspired by cultures who were prone to painting their faces be it for war, entertainment, culture or vanity. I wanted to exaggerate the application of paint as to seem like it may be a true impasto painting on canvas as well as to exaggerate each character in the series.They all have a certain intensity about them.
All Fine Art Photography Prints Are Framed using the Diasec® method by Face-Mounting Fuji Archival Matt (C-type) Prints directly and permanently to Acrylic sheet which comes with a 2cm hanger which elevates it from the wall. Also allowing light penetration and refraction making the colours more brilliant and the image sharper than with standard glass in a picture frame. A Diasec mount is of a high gloss finish which is my preferred framing option because of the shellac shine complimenting the wet paint in the photograph. The photograph is also protected against ultraviolet (UV) light. Diasec contains UV light inhibitors to help protect the image from UV light.
I also have the option of unframed edition in Paper prints. Digital Fiber prints have a longevity of over 200 years. I use Felix Schoeller True Fibre Matt. These prints come with a 3cm white border for clients to frame as they wish. All paper prints are signed and numbered in pencil on white border below image.
